Summer Scents

The happiness that a summer breeze brings is incomparable. And smelling like it is the icing on the cake. While icing is a threat to your waistline, these scents aren't. My mum wasn't fussed about make up but she was and still is very passionate about her perfume collection. I'd eye her vanity table, it's array of bottles and aspired to build my own. Although I haven't accumulated as much as her, I've rounded up a couple of perfumes that I have had on rotation this summer.

The one gets me the most compliments and personally love the men's version, too. It's sexy and bold while being oh so feminine.

This is my chic scent and embodiment of my love for roses. If my families around, well, it's a steady drop in the amount of perfume left in the bottle.

What summer without a few parties? Attention is bound to be grabbed with a few spritz of this intense scent. I fall in and out of love with it though. I'd pass this up for the Paco Rabanne any day.

I got this as a 100 point perk from Sephora and I absolutely love it. I was gonna to get the full size roller ball but it was a pleasant surprise. It fills in my bag and is a great freshen up between classes. Once I run out, the full size will definitely sit on my desk.

A Clothing Haul

There was a sale and I am dysfunctional and that's enough said. The round up consists of some UO, Zara, and Aritzia. I wanted to add a few staple pieces to my closet as well a couple of blazers for a dash of chic. So, I placed an online order at Urban Outfitters for a blazer and two necklaces and snagged these babies..

Over the weekend, I picked up this gem at the Black Market on Queen Street. A Levi's jacket for $10, steal!
Thrifted Levis

There came Zara. Since I wear a lot of black, I decided to break it up a bit with a few white pieces. I will always, always justify the need for basics. Trends will come and go but basics will on forever.

And finally Aritza for a pop of color.

Now the hunt for the perfect pair of shoes is on!

A Dash of Vintage

Four jackets, four personalities, here's the finished look. Without further a due, this is how Stephanie, Marco, Ekta and I wore our denim jackets to college today.

Marco's Acid Wash Cropped Levi's

Stephanie's Dad's Vintage Jacket

Ekta's Two Tone Oversized Guess

My Light Stone Wash Levi's
While each jacket is thrifted, it stands apart. Distinct in it's design and wash, it adds quirk and edge to each outfit. Value comes with age, not just heavy price tags.

A LUSH Talk

I've always harbored a soft spot for handcrafted items, LUSH catered to those needs and then some. What I love about their product is it's uniqueness. The staff are ever so friendly and equally excited about the products that I can't not leave the store empty handed!

I've rounded up a few things and it called for a first impression/review. A toner, a body scrub, and two shower bits.

With green tea, juniper berry and grape fruit waters, this is works wonders for my skin. Ever now and then I omit it from my bed time routine to test it. And I've noticed that skin gets dull and prone to break outs. It keeps oils in check without drying my skin too much. I've been told that it hasn't worked for a number people but it's doing fine by me so far.
Spritz Away!

Over the weekend, I use this as a mini pamper session. Chop a quarter up to avoid fumbling in the shower and scrub away. The ginger and fennel are so refreshing! Just don't scrub too hard. With the dead cells stripped away, I can tackle the next of summer school with softer skin.

Scrubtastic

This wobbly piece of goodness seems to exist in my shower solely for my amusement. I love the smell of it. The website says it smells of black current and sour cherry, my nose denies such claims. I spot glitter and smell grapes. You can freeze it for an extra touch during the summer. So I followed suit but was disappointed as bits fell off. I doubt it will be re-purchased.
Jiggle Jiggle Jiggle
The gel doesn't lather as much as other drugstore body washes but it leaves you feeling like you've step out of a fresh water spring. Cool and tingly, this is perfect for the summer. I rotate this with the Olive Branch shower gel so keep things exciting.

They're Real! Push Up Liner Review

Benefit Cosmetics have long captivated our attentions and hearts with creations both witty and innovative. Constantly broadening their horizons, the latest happens to merge and soothe every liner gal's dilemma. A gel liner in a pen, not only have they invented it, I believe they've mastered it. Earlier this week, representatives of the brand came into class to enlighten us on Social Media Marketing and along with them came this fantastic liner. The adjectives seem to be rolling off my mind onto keys into this blogpost because all the excitement is cruising through my veins once again.

They're Real! Push Up Liner & They're Real! Remover

The flexible rubber tip called the AccuFlex tip, has a bump which helps the gel glide when applied, allowing you to get as close to the lash line as possible. Despite the intimidating slanted tip, it gives a lot of control over the type of line. The formula is silky, waterproof and long lasting. Swipe, rub, scrub- it just won't budge. That's where the remover comes in. A little bit of it goes a long way and is the only way the gel gets off. After some frantic rubbing, my hand was line free but my mind obsessed with owning this.

Up until that day, I craved the Kat Von D tattoo liner but I'm team Benefit now. There's some amount of trial, error and education that goes into this product but the end result is definitely worth it. So, hit the learning curve and unleash your inner bad gal. The product will be in stores on 06/27/2014 and retails at $29.
